Plain-English summary of what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Cam Cloud is a trading name of Red Web Cambridge Limited (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for personal data collected through the camcloud.co.uk website and the hosting and maintenance services we provide under the Cam Cloud brand.

What we collect

We only collect personal data when you voluntarily provide it, or when it is necessary to operate the services you’ve purchased. Specifically:

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message.
  • Customer records: if you become a customer, your billing name, address, domain(s), technical contact details, and invoicing history.
  • Server logs: IP address, timestamp, URL requested, user agent, collected by Cloudflare as our CDN/WAF and retained for security and debugging.
  • Support correspondence: any emails or messages you send us.

We do not use advertising trackers, analytics that profile users, or marketing cookies. We do not build or enrich profiles of visitors.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

  • To reply to your enquiries, lawful basis: legitimate interest (responding to someone who has contacted us).
  • To deliver the service you’ve purchased, lawful basis: contract.
  • To send invoices and service notices, lawful basis: contract and legal obligation (tax records).
  • To keep the service secure, lawful basis: legitimate interest in preventing abuse.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted processors to run the service. Each has its own security measures and a DPA with us where required:

  • Cloudflare, Inc., CDN, DNS, WAF, email forwarding, Pages, Workers, KV. Data processed in multiple global regions.
  • Stripe, Inc., payment processing and invoicing. We do not store card details ourselves.
  • Xero Limited, accounting and tax records.
  • Google (Workspace), email hosting for our business addresses.

We will never sell your data, and we will only share it with a third party outside this list if required by law.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form submissions: 24 months, then deleted.
  • Customer records and invoices: 7 years (UK tax requirement), then deleted.
  • Server logs: 30 days (set by Cloudflare).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Ask us to restrict or stop processing it.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), though we’d appreciate the chance to fix things first.

Cookies

The camcloud.co.uk website does not set any cookies in your browser. Cloudflare (our CDN) may set a small number of essential cookies for security and load-balancing, these are not used for tracking or marketing.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and, where relevant, notify existing customers by email.
